Rallying to the North: Those 70 years, so much love

On October 27, the 70th anniversary of Quang Nam cadres, soldiers and students regrouping to the North (October 1954 - October 2024) was held in Hanoi.

At the ceremony, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung said that the Geneva Agreement signed in 1954 temporarily divided the country into two regions, North and South.

Since the early days of gathering in the North, the children of Quang have been loved, protected, educated, assigned jobs, and given favorable conditions by the Party, the State, the people of the North in general and the people of Hanoi in particular to fulfill their duties well for the country and homeland.

Up to now, many cadres, soldiers and students of Quang Nam have grown up and become famous in Hanoi. Many of them are leaders of the Party and State, leaders of sectors and localities, Heroes of the Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor; generals, senior officers; leading scientists in many fields, famous artists, musicians, painters, journalists, many successful businessmen..., contributing to making Quang Nam famous.

Sharing information on the socio-economic situation of Quang Nam province in recent times "to make Quang Nam people in Hanoi excited," Mr. Le Van Dung said that the province is focusing on implementing the provincial planning contents until 2030 approved by the Prime Minister.

Among them, actively implementing some important contents such as the policy of socializing investment and exploitation of Chu Lai Airport associated with Tam Quang Duty Free Zone; forming the Natural Medicinal Herbs Industry Center; Mechanical Engineering and Supporting Industry Center; Silica Mining and Processing Center; investing in waterways and seaports for 50,000-ton ships; investing in National Highway 14D, National Highway 14E and the route to Chu Lai Port; preserving and promoting the value of the world heritage of Hoi An ancient town and socializing the My Son temple complex...

Successful implementation of the above contents will be an important premise, contributing to the successful implementation of the goal of making Quang Nam a fairly developed province of the country by 2030.

Currently, the province has been actively preparing for Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress; celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the homeland and national reunification (1975-2025) - Mr. Le Van Dung emphasized and expressed "the above results have the positive and responsible contributions of Quang Nam people in Hanoi," the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province hopes that the children of Quang Nam in Hanoi will continue to unite, promote the fine traditions of their homeland; work enthusiastically, study to contribute to building, developing and protecting the country and the capital Hanoi, always looking towards their beloved homeland.

Information at the ceremony also showed that in 1954, the Vietnamese people experienced a major historical turning point, leaving an unforgettable mark.

Among the cadres, soldiers, students, and people from the South who gathered in the North, there were thousands of cadres, soldiers, and students from Quang.

Loved and protected by the Party, the State, the people of the North in general and the people of the Capital in particular, the children of Quang always stood side by side with the army and people of the Capital and the people of the North to defeat the destructive war of the American imperialists, contributing to the liberation of the South, the unification of the country, and the construction of the country.

As shared by the children of Quang who gathered in the North in 1954, the 70-year journey is not long in the thousand-year history of Thang Long-Hanoi, but it is enough to record the love and affection and positive contributions of generations of Quang people to the country and the capital.
