12 rowers fell into the Dong Nai River after their boat capsized. Rescue forces successfully brought all the victims to shore.
On the morning of February 9, a boat capsized during a rowing competition on the Dong Nai River, causing all the athletes to fall into the river.
According to the police, during the 2025 Dong Nai Province Traditional Boat Racing Club Championship, a competing team's boat capsized, causing all the athletes to fall into the river.
Discovering the incident, authorities quickly dispatched two canoes to approach and bring the 12 athletes safely ashore.
This tournament is organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province in coordination with the People's Committee of Bien Hoa city.
After the above incident, the Organizing Committee continued to run the tournament and it was a great success. As a result, Binh Hoa 2 team (Dong Nai) won first place in the 500m distance in the province; Thanh Hoi team (Binh Duong) won first place in the 500m extended distance; Binh Hoa 2 team (Dong Nai) won first place in the 1,000m distance in the province; Thanh Da Sports Club team (Ho Chi Minh City) won first place in the 1,000m extended distance.
