At the scene, a section of the old Dong Nai bridge railing collapsed and fell off. At the time of the incident, many people who were moving on the bridge witnessed it directly and quickly notified the authorities to assist in the search.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Team on the River (Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Dong Nai Provincial Police) mobilized many officers, soldiers and canoes to organize the search.

At 9 p.m., after several dives, divers discovered the car at the bottom of the river. The car was about 50 meters from the scene, right under Dong Nai bridge.

"However, the water is still flowing strongly so the car cannot be lifted yet," said a rescue officer, adding that because they have not been able to reach inside the car, it is not yet known whether the victim is still inside the car or has escaped.
