This morning, at the Hai Phong Sports Training Center, the Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Vietnam Shooting Federation, in coordination with the Hai Phong City People's Committee, opened the 2025 National Air Gun Championship.
The tournament took place from March 15 to 27, with the participation of 300 coaches and athletes from 11 provinces, cities and sectors including: Army, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, People's Police, Dong Nai, Dak Lak, Quang Nam and host Hai Phong.
The award structure includes 52 sets of medals in individual and team events: 10 m air rifle, 10 m air pistol, 10 m portable air rifle and 10 m mixed portable air rifle.
Director of the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Hoang Mai said that shooting is developing strongly throughout the country. Vietnam has had many athletes achieve high results in Southeast Asian, continental and world championships. Shooting as well as air gun shooting is the foundation for building physical discipline, increasing strength and endurance; at the same time, strengthening hand-eye coordination and better motor skills.
The 2025 National Air Gun Championship is an opportunity for athletes to compete and affirm their position; experts discover and add athletes with outstanding achievements to the national team, participating in upcoming international competitions. The tournament also contributes to introducing and promoting the image of the people of the port city to friends across the country.
The Organizing Committee requests that relevant units and members coordinate closely, organize carefully, ensure safety, and create all favorable conditions for the tournament to take place with the highest results. The referees will run the tournament accurately and objectively; the athletes will compete with all their might, strictly implementing the Laws, Regulations and regulations of the Organizing Committee.
