The Department of Information and Communications needs to have strong solutions to handle junk SIMs and junk calls.

On the morning of November 26, leaders of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee had a working session with the Department of Information and Communications to prepare the content to be submitted to the 28th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Khac Toan suggested that, with the state management of information and communication, the Department of Information and Communication needs to have strong solutions in handling junk SIMs, junk calls, junk messages; guide and support people and businesses to be safe from fake content, especially in the context of rapid development of artificial intelligence, where scammers can cut, edit, and propagate fake content, clips, and images.

Research, review, advise, and propose mechanisms and preferential policies to attract talents and IT human resources. Regarding telecommunications infrastructure, the Department of Information and Communications needs to frankly acknowledge the existing problems to have specific solutions in managing, maintaining, and repairing infrastructure, forecasting, and having specific scenarios to respond to external impacts such as natural disasters.

The Department needs to do better in foreign information work; update regularly, innovate the way of posting content, increase attractiveness to attract more access to the Provincial Foreign Information Portal.

Emphasizing that in 2025, Party Congresses at all levels will take place, towards the 14th National Party Congress, which is a major political event for the entire political system, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Khac Toan requested the Department of Information and Communications to urgently develop a plan to promote the congress.

The Department needs to soon find solutions to innovate grassroots broadcasting methods, gradually reduce propaganda by reading documents, and promote visual forms on digital platforms.

At the meeting, members of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Committee and the Department of Information and Communications discussed and clarified a number of issues related to the control of fake content, especially on social networking platforms, the rate of online applications submitted via the province's administrative procedure settlement information system, including the rate of complete online applications, the results of implementing essential public services under Project 06 in the area, the province's shared data warehouse, methods of evaluating the effectiveness of digital transformation, criteria for evaluating digital technology enterprises, digital platforms, etc.
