Skoda Kushaq starts receiving deposits from dealers

The B-segment SUV market in Vietnam is about to welcome a potential "new warrior", the Skoda Kushaq. This model is expected to be launched in late April or early May 2025. Kushaq is a model assembled domestically by Thanh Cong Group (the unit that holds the right to assemble and distribute the Skoda brand in Vietnam). This model not only has a competitive advantage in terms of price, but also carries a European car brand, promising to create a vibrant competition with other heavyweights such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Yaris Cross or Mitsubishi Xforce.

Kushaq is Skoda's third model in Vietnam after Kodiaq and Karo (two imported SUV models of D and C sizes, respectively, currently sold in Vietnam). Thanh Cong Group chose Kushap as a localized model in Vietnam with the desire to have a more competitive price compared to other competitors in the Vietnamese car market. From mid-March 2025, Skoda Kushaq dealers have received deposits with an expected selling price of 600 - 700 million VND.

Skoda's 5-seater B-segment SUV is developed on the MQB A0 IN platform. This is also the Volkswagen Group's MQB A0 platform but is a low-cost version for the Indian market.

The Skoda Kushaq has a bold European design style, with overall dimensions of length x width x height of 4,221 x 1,760 x 1,612 mm and a wheelbase of 2,651 mm. This model also appeared at the Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) 2024, impressing with front/rear LED lights and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Like its "seniors" Kodiaq and Karoq imported to the Vietnamese market, Skoda Kushaq has a masculine design. The interior of Skoda Kushaq is designed in a minimalist but modern style. The car is equipped with an entertainment screen placed on the dashboard, optional size 7 or 10 inches, supporting Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Present on the market, Skoda Kushaq also promises to be a "formidable" competitor to hot car models in Vietnam such as: Mitsubishi Xforce, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Honda HR-V... (In 2024, Xforce was the best-selling car model in the segment with sales of 14,407 cars). However, according to some reviews, Skoda Kushaq is much more favored than Japanese and Korean models such as Xforce or Seltos.

The Kushaq has a 6-speaker sound system, while the 2-spoke steering wheel is integrated with function buttons and can be adjusted in 4 directions. Depending on the version, the car will have manual or automatic air conditioning, along with interior lighting to create a luxurious highlight.

In terms of safety equipment, from the standard version, Skoda Kushaq has been equipped with technologies such as ABS brakes, electronic brake force distribution EBD, electronic balance ESC and rear parking sensors. Higher versions can be added with 6 airbags, rear camera, Cruise Control, hill start assist and tire pressure warning, providing maximum safety for users.

The appearance of Kushaq could mark a significant milestone, helping European car brands get closer to the Vietnamese market thanks to advantages in price, modern design and features equipped with the car.
