On the afternoon of March 8, the Vietnam Football Federation coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Nam province and the Sports Training and Competition Center of Ha Nam province to organize the AFC Women's Football Festival in Vietnam in 2024.
Attending the festival were representatives of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the Vietnam Football Federation, over 100 professional and amateur female athletes from Ha Nam province, and players of the Vietnam national team such as: Tuyet Dung, Tran Thi Duyen, Le Thi Thanh Huong, Lai Thi Tuyet...
Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation Nguyen Thanh Ha said that as an active member of the AFC, the federation always cares about and creates conditions for the development of women's football in Vietnam through many programs, including the AFC Women's Football Festival in Vietnam. This is an activity organized to honor women's football and encourage the spirit of female players in member federations. This event has become an annual activity of the Vietnam Football Federation, conveying the message of Fair-play spirit, solidarity among young players and the development of women's football. This year, with financial support from the AFC, the Vietnam Football Federation has invested in training equipment, helping young female players in the country and the Phong Phu Ha Nam football team to practice better.
This is also the first time the AFC Women's Football Festival in Vietnam has been held in Ha Nam province. Mr. Ngo Thanh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Nam province, said that women's football is a sport that is widely participated in by young people and children in the province, and has received investment from all levels and sectors. In Ha Nam, the school football movement has developed strongly, contributing to the overall achievements of women's football in the province as well as the whole country. Through this activity, young female athletes from clubs and teams in the province have the opportunity to interact, exchange skills and competition experience, participate in collective activities, increase solidarity and attachment to the Phong Phu Ha Nam football team.
At the festival, over 100 female players from Ha Nam province enthusiastically played ball games and participated in small matches under the guidance of coaches, national female players and Phong Phu Ha Nam football team.
