The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is in the top 3 nominees for the Diamond Award for AFC Member Federation of the Year.
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has been named in the top 3 nominees for the Diamond Award for AFC Member Association of the Year. This is one of the four awards honoring members of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), along with the Platinum, Gold and Ruby awards. The Diamond Award is the second most prestigious award.
VFF's inclusion in the top 3 nominees for the Diamond Award is also a recognition by AFC of the outstanding achievements of Vietnamese football in 2022.

This year, the Vietnamese women's team qualified for the 2023 World Cup finals for the first time. This is the first time the Vietnamese team has competed in the final qualifying round of a World Cup.
In 2022, Vietnam is the only country in Southeast Asia with 3 youth teams competing in the Asian finals. U23 Vietnam won the right to enter the quarter-finals of the 2022 U23 Asia.
In addition, in the regional arena, Vietnamese football also impressed by winning the 2022 Southeast Asian U23 Championship and winning both men's and women's football gold medals at the 31st SEA Games.
In 2022, the Vietnam Football Federation coordinated well with the AFC to organize two tournaments, the AFC Cup and the AFC Champions League, in Ho Chi Minh City. The 11-a-side football and futsal competitions also took place smoothly at the 31st SEA Games. The Diamond Awards are part of the AFC Annual Awards ceremony. The event returns after a four-year hiatus.
The awards ceremony will take place tonight (0:00 on November 1, Vietnam time).
