Promote Vietnam's image, improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information

Opening the Conference, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam assessed: Foreign information is a very important task in the foreign affairs and ideological work of the Party and State, a bridge and means to expand the exchange of understanding between Vietnam and other countries. In terms of national interests, doing a good job of foreign information work will help international friends access the situation about Vietnam accurately, thereby correctly understanding the country and people of Vietnam. This helps to implement the open foreign policy, multilateralization, diversification of international relations and international economic integration of our country, gaining the support of the people of the world, the contribution of the Vietnamese community abroad, attracting the attention of businesses, financial and monetary organizations, and governments of countries around the world.

In addition, doing a good job of foreign information work also helps limit false and fabricated information about Vietnam and prevent the plot of "peaceful evolution" in the fields of ideology and culture as well as activities that sabotage national security by opposing elements. In the context of hostile forces trying to propagate Western values, defame and distort the policies of the Party and State in domestic and foreign affairs, foreign information work plays an even more important role, aiming to bring people the most correct awareness of the policies of the Party and State as well as refute the distorted arguments of hostile forces.

At the Conference, delegates listened to reporters from the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, the Institute for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, etc. presenting topics on foreign information. Among them, there were many interesting topics such as: Some new points of Resolution 47/NQ-CP of the Government on the Government's Action Program to 2030 to implement Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information work in the new situation; Improving the effectiveness of the Party's foreign information work in the new situation; Current world and regional situations and Vietnam's foreign policy; Guidelines for communication to promote national and local images in a new way, etc.

Representatives of some units and localities introduced good practices and practical experiences in implementing foreign affairs work, such as the Chairman of Le Group Corporation sharing about building local brands in the overall development of national brands.
