Innovating foreign information work, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's prestige and position

Party Central Committee Secretaries: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work; Le Hoai Trung, Head of the Central External Relations Department and leaders of a number of ministries and branches chaired the conference.

Comrade Tran Duc Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee chaired the conference at the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee bridge.

Comrades, members of the Steering Committee for External Information Work of Hai Duong province; leaders of departments, branches, sectors, unions, press and media agencies of the province; leaders and officials of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; provincial-level reporters; leaders of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc attended the conference at the Hai Duong province bridge.

The conference was broadcast live by Hai Duong province to 12 locations in districts, towns and cities with 1,522 delegates attending.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work, emphasized the important results, role, stature and significance of the external information work of the Party and State; acknowledged and commended the proactiveness and efforts of ministries, departments, branches, central agencies and localities in preparing and successfully organizing the online conference.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda Department and Head of the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work, requested that all levels and sectors should step up information and propaganda work on the Party's foreign policy and guidelines, achievements in external information work and the contents of the conference to a large number of cadres, party members and people. Propaganda and information work on external affairs work needs to be carried out regularly, with focus, key points, quality and efficiency. Continue to comprehensively innovate external information work and closely follow and successfully implement the goal of contributing to enhancing the international position and prestige of Vietnam and the Communist Party of Vietnam...

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, emphasized the need to raise awareness and responsibility of Party committees, Party organizations, authorities at all levels, leaders, cadres, Party members and people, especially agencies and organizations assigned to carry out foreign information work. Strengthen coordination between agencies and organizations in the political system. Continue to innovate the content and methods of foreign information. Step up the fight against false and negative information that harms the interests of the nation, the people, the country's development process and the leadership role of the Party.

At the conference, delegates listened to the report summarizing 10 years of implementing Conclusion No. 16-KL/TW, dated February 14, 2012 of the Politburo on "Foreign information development strategy for the period 2011-2020"; thoroughly grasping the core contents and guiding the implementation of Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW dated June 15, 2023 of the Politburo on continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information work in the new situation.

Delegates were also informed, reported and thoroughly grasped 6 topics: Improving the effectiveness of the Party's foreign information work and people's foreign affairs in the new situation; the world and regional situation and issues arising for foreign information work in the new situation; the draft Outline of the Government's Action Program to implement Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW dated June 15, 2023 of the Politburo on continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information work in the new situation; foreign information work in the field of security and defense contributes to protecting national security early and from afar; foreign information contributes to improving the effectiveness of the fight against and refuting wrong and distorted views, bad and toxic information, especially in cyberspace; foreign information work contributes to building a cultural industry, spreading Vietnamese values, identity and culture to the international community.
