Chess players from Pha Lai ward (Chi Linh) won first prize in the team chess tournament of the 2025 Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival in Hai Duong.
On the morning of February 12, within the framework of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival 2025, a Chinese Chess Tournament took place in the front yard of Nguyen Trai Temple.
The tournament had 40 players from 7 communes and wards of Chi Linh city, including: Sao Do, Bac An, Ben Tam, Van An, Hung Dao, Cong Hoa and Pha Lai.
Players compete in 5 rounds according to the Swiss system, applying the Chinese Chess Rules of the Department of Physical Education and Sports (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). Each round lasts 40 minutes, in case of no winner, an additional 20 minutes will be played.
After half a day of excitement and attraction, the result was that Pha Lai ward won first prize in the team event, second prize went to Bac An ward and Hung Dao commune won third prize.
In the individual event, player Dong To Hung (Pha Lai ward) won first prize. Two players Duong Dinh Do (Hung Dao commune) and Do Khai (Pha Lai ward) won second and third prizes respectively.
This is an annual tournament held for over 20 years at the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site. The tournament attracts more and more qualified players from Chi Linh City to participate.
