Nguyen Thi Oanh and many famous athletes participate in the Con Son - Kiep Bac Marathon 2025

Up to now, more than 1,600 people have registered to compete in the 'Con Son - Kiep Bac - Journey of connecting cultural heritage 2025' Marathon, including many famous athletes such as Nguyen Thi Oanh, Nguyen Trung Cuong...

Held at the Con Son - Kiep Bac special national relic site (Chi Linh city), this year's race attracted a large number of athletes in many different distances. Of which, 2 new distances including 21 km with nearly 900 athletes, showed a strong attraction for those who love mid-range challenges. The 42 km distance was equally exciting when attracting more than 300 athletes ready to conquer their own limits.

This year's race brings together many famous names in the Vietnamese athletics community. Notably, there are athletes who have made their mark in national and international tournaments such as: Nguyen Thi Oanh, Nguyen Trung Cuong, Luong Duc Phuoc, Bui Thi Thu Ha... In addition, nearly 20 athletes from the Vietnamese athletics team also participate, under the guidance of coach Tran Van Sy. The appearance of these faces not only increases competition but also motivates amateur athletes.

On the beautiful running routes around the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site, the organizing committee has planned to check and deploy specific traffic control plans to ensure the safety of athletes as well as limit traffic conflicts with tourists participating in the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival 2025.

At National Highway 37, km 92 + 600 and km 92 + 950 (An Linh intersection), the organizers will requisition a section of road, and vehicles will be stopped in both directions when athletes run through. The road closure is expected to last from 20 - 30 minutes (from the first athlete to the last person passing through this area).

On other routes on Highway 37, traffic police checkpoints will be set up in combination with mobile barriers and “No Road” signs. The authorities will regulate traffic from a distance, helping vehicles slow down when approaching areas where athletes are running.

To ensure absolute safety for athletes and visitors, Bai Re area (Con Son pagoda) will prohibit two-way traffic from Bai Re to Highway 37 at km 92 + 780.

On other routes, the organizers use reflective tape and markers to clearly divide the lanes for vehicles and the lanes for athletes. The lanes close to the sidewalk, 2 - 3 m wide, will be reserved for runners.

The new route running through Dong Viet bridge for the 21km and 42km distances is a new feature of this year's race. In these two distances, athletes will run on the beautiful route leading to Dong Viet bridge, then return to Kiep Bac temple and go back to An Linh intersection.

On the route running through Kiep Bac Temple of the 2 new distances of 21 and 42 km, the representative of the consulting unit organizing the Great Race Vietnam race said: "After nearly 2 months of opening the registration gate, the race recorded a record number of registered athletes of more than 1,600 people. The reason this year's race attracted many athletes is because the 2 new distances of 21 and 42 km are designed to run through the most beautiful landscapes of Chi Linh City. In addition, not being held at the same time also allows athletes to try their hand at many distances of the race."

With the route around Con Son Lake for the 5 and 10 km distances, after starting at the parking lot east of Con Son, athletes will run back to the start of the route, turn down and run along the road along Con Son Lake.
