The Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee requested to temporarily suspend the organization of the Commune-level Sports Festival until the merger process is completed.

Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee has adjusted the plan to organize Sports Festivals at all levels.
Accordingly, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed to temporarily suspend the organization of the Commune-level Sports Congress until the merger is completed; and to suspend the organization of the District, Town, and City Sports Congresses.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, based on the actual situation after the communes, wards and provinces and cities have completed the merger of administrative units under the direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat, to advise the Provincial People's Committee to adjust and amend Plan No. 2263/KH-UBND dated June 14, 2024 on organizing the 10th Hai Duong Provincial Sports Congress in 2025 - 2026 to suit practical requirements. The time to complete the organization of the Sports Congress at all levels is by the end of May 2026. At the same time, guide the localities after the merger to develop plans and regulations for organizing the grassroots Sports Congress to ensure compliance with regulations.
With these adjustments, localities will have more time to prepare, in order to improve the quality of organizing the 10th Sports Congress, aiming at the goal of developing the sports movement more and more strongly.
Hai Duong province has successfully organized 9 Sports Festivals, with an increasing number of athletes and competitions. The first Sports Festival had 10 competitions, while the 8th in 2018 expanded to 16. The 9th Sports Festival (2022) is one of the most special ones when facing many challenges from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite difficulties, the mass sports movement in Hai Duong continues to develop strongly. The quality of athletes is increasingly improving, helping the provincial sports delegation achieve many proud achievements at the National Sports Festival.
