Standing Deputy Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee Le Van Hieu affirmed that the resilience of former female revolutionary prisoners contributed significantly to the overall victory of the nation.
On the morning of March 5, comrade Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation visited and presented gifts to former female revolutionary prisoners in Thuc Khang and Hung Thang communes (Binh Giang) on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2025), 50 years of Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Also attending were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung; leaders of the Provincial Women's Union and Binh Giang district.
The delegation visited and presented gifts to former female revolutionary prisoners: Hoang Thi Trieu (born in 1933), Tran Thi Gai (born in 1932, both in Chau Khe village, Thuc Khang commune); Nguyen Thi Phai (born in 1931, in Nhan Kiet village), Vu Thi Sich (born in 1931, in Tuan village, both in Hung Thang commune, Binh Giang).
Ms. Hoang Thi Trieu participated in the revolution from October 1953 to October 1954, and was imprisoned by the enemy in Hai Duong prison from February 1954 to August 1954. She was awarded a Commemorative Medal from the Prime Minister when she was imprisoned, and a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee in 2007.
Ms. Tran Thi Gai participated in revolutionary activities from April 1952 to July 1954. She was arrested by the enemy and imprisoned in Hai Duong prison, then transferred to Thanh Hoa prison from February 1953 to June 1954. She was awarded the Prime Minister's Commemorative Medal when she was imprisoned.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phai participated in revolutionary activities from March 1949 to July 1954, and was imprisoned by the enemy in Hai Duong prison from February 1954 to July 1954. She was awarded the Prime Minister's Commemorative Medal when she was imprisoned and the Resistance Medal.
Ms. Vu Thi Sich participated in revolutionary activities from April 1947 to July 1954, and was arrested by the enemy and imprisoned in Hai Duong prison from November 1953 to July 1954.
At the families he visited, Mr. Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, kindly asked about the health of the former female revolutionary prisoners and expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions of the women and mothers during the years of participating in the resistance war. The resilience of the women and mothers contributed significantly to the overall victory of the nation in the resistance war against the French, highlighting the indomitable tradition of Vietnamese women.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Van Hieu wished all mothers good health and continued to be shining examples for younger generations to follow.
