Gia Loc honors 100 typical women in various fields

On the afternoon of March 5, the Gia Loc District Women's Union held a conference to honor 100 outstanding women in the fields of socio-economic development, representing more than 29,000 officials and members in the district.

In the field of overcoming difficulties to develop the economy, a typical example is Ms. Nguyen Thi Uy, in Thung Do village, Doan Thuong commune. To develop the economy, she borrowed capital from the district's Social Policy Bank to invest in the VAC model. Up to now, her family's average income has reached over 1.5 billion VND/year, generating hundreds of millions of VND in profit.

In the field of raising children skillfully, there is Ms. Vu Thi Lan, Lac Thuong village, Thong Kenh commune. Her husband died of cancer in 2015, she raised 3 young children and paid off the debt for her husband's medical expenses. From a poor and near-poor household in the commune, she boldly borrowed capital to do services, currently she earns 60 - 70 million VND in profit each year. Her children are good and studious, 1 of them studied at the National Economics University, has graduated and is working with a stable income; 2 of them are studying at the University of Pharmacy and Thai Nguyen University of Education.

In recent years, women in Gia Loc district have made many efforts in labor and production, contributing to reducing the poverty rate in the district from 1.1% (in 2020) to 0.85% (in 2024).
