Detecting a network of counterfeit car glass with prestigious brand labels

On the evening of December 15, the leader of the Economic Police Department, Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police, said that they had just broken up a ring that produced and traded a large quantity of auto glass of all kinds, with fake labels of many branded auto brands on the market to make illegal profits.

Previously, the Economic Police Department, Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police discovered many suspicious signs of illegal activities at the auto glass business on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street (Thuy Duong Ward, Huong Thuy Town) owned by Tran Quoc Loi (born in 1978) and Trinh Thi Kim Nhu (born in 1988).

Through professional measures, the police force has clarified that this business establishment has been manufacturing and trading in large quantities of various types of auto glass, counterfeiting the brand labels of many major car brands on the market.

Searching the business and two warehouses, the police force seized 500 car windshields of various types printed with fake logos of many major brands such as Toyota, Mercedes, Peugeot, Kia, For, Huyndai... worth more than 1 billion VND, along with many related exhibits.

Working with the police, Tran Quoc Loi and Trinh Thi Kim Nhu confessed to buying Chinese brand car glass and transporting it to Vietnam.

Then, they directly used specialized machinery and solutions to erase the Chinese brand logos on the glass. Next, Loi and Nhu used self-designed software to copy the logos of famous car brands to print on the erased glass panels.

The case is being completed by Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police to handle according to legal regulations.
