Dismantling a network specializing in stealing bank cards from spa guests in Da Nang

On December 8, Hai Chau District Police (Da Nang City) announced that they had just arrested a group of men and women who specialized in stealing bank cards from customers at spas and then using them to buy gold and cell phones.

Initial information, through the investigation of the area, the Criminal Police Team of Hai Chau District Police discovered that a girl named Phuong often went to places that offered payment services using bank cards to buy gold, phones, etc., showing many suspicious signs.

During the investigation, the police identified Nguyen Thi Kieu Phuong (residing on Trung Nu Vuong Street, Da Nang). This girl often uses a Vinfast electric motorbike with license plate 43C2-069.60 (removed license plate) when going to transaction points, using a bank card with information that is not hers to swipe the card to withdraw money, transfer money to another bank account or buy gold and phones.

On the afternoon of December 6, when Phuong bought an iPhone 15 Promax at a store on Nguyen Van Linh Street (Nam Duong Ward, Hai Chau District) and swiped his card to pay, the Criminal Police Team coordinated with Nam Duong Ward Police to arrest him.

After a quick investigation, Phuong admitted to having just stolen a Platinum debit card from Mr. NVH (living at Hiyori apartment on Vo Van Kiet street, An Hai Bac, Son Tra) and went to the store to buy 5 iPhone 15 Promax phones.

Continuing the fight, Phuong confessed that he and his accomplices stole many bank cards, then used them to buy gold, phones...

From Phuong's testimony, the police arrested Tran Canh Khuong (30 years old, residing in Xuan Ha ward, Thanh Khe district, Da Nang), an accomplice of Phuong.

According to his confession, Khuong was an employee of a spa on Hung Vuong Street. While working there, taking advantage of customers' carelessness, Khuong stole bank cards (mainly credit cards that could be paid by swiping at service points) and gave them to Phuong to go to gold shops and phone stores to buy goods and transfer money to other bank accounts.

Khuong also stated that his accomplices included Nguyen Huu Khanh Vy (34 years old, residing in Nam Duong ward, Hai Chau) and Han Chanh Gia Thanh Quang (26 years old, residing in Nam Duong ward).

In addition, this group confessed to luring some men into the hotel to "talk" and then took advantage of the loophole to steal bank cards.

According to initial figures, this group appropriated more than 330 million VND from many people.

The case is under further investigation.
