Ms. Quyen said that history is a subject that is likened to the flow of time, taking us back to the past, discovering brilliant civilizations, heroic history of the nation but also full of numbers and events that are difficult to remember. Therefore, to create interesting lessons, Ms. Quyen actively innovates methods, turning dry numbers into "soft" and lively ones.
She regularly organizes group discussions, plays games, and plays to help students realize the connection between history and present life. From there, she encourages them to explore, research, and share their own understanding of historical topics. When she first graduated, the salary was low, parents were not interested in letting their children study geography, and students took this subject lightly, so sometimes she felt sad. The teaching and learning program had many innovations and pressures, so she encountered many difficulties.
However, she was determined to change the way parents and students think about geography by researching and innovating teaching methods. “To create interest in geography for students, I guided them to learn using keywords, images, drawings, mind maps, and observing external phenomena to draw knowledge. I designed lessons with diverse styles, let students play games, and present problematic situations that are contrary to what they know so they can find solutions. I started the new lesson with many activities such as letting students practice giving lectures, making group products, and performing skits that are appropriate to the lesson…”, Ms. San said.
Her love for the profession has motivated Ms. San to devote herself to teaching, especially to researching, innovating, and creating with 5 initiatives recognized at the district and industry levels and widely applied in teaching.
