A young man stopped by a gold shop in Ben Luc town (Ben Luc district, Long An province) to rob gold but was surrounded and caught by local people.
The incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on September 23, at KP gold shop, located on Nguyen Trung Truc street, ward 6, Ben Luc town, Ben Luc district (Long An).
At that time, the young man was driving a black Suzuki AxeLo motorbike with license plate 95E1-491.02 across Nguyen Trung Truc street.
Arriving at the KP gold shop, the young man stopped and went in to buy gold. Seeing a customer, the gold shop owner took out 2 gold rings and 4 bracelets to try on. After trying them on, the young man returned the 2 gold rings and 2 bracelets.
The young man put on the remaining 2 bracelets worth 70 million VND and then suddenly ran to the car parked in front of the gold shop to escape.
The gold shop owner shouted and together with some people rushed to surround and capture the subject, controlling him and handing him over to Ben Luc District Police for handling.
At the police station, the suspect declared himself to be Duong Thanh Dat (27 years old), permanent resident of Hiep Thanh ward, Nga Bay city, Hau Giang province.
The case is currently being investigated by the Investigation Police Agency of Ben Luc District Police.
