Specifically, at noon on December 2, the police discovered a black nylon bag containing many gold jewelry hidden in the bushes near a canal in Dau Giong B hamlet. Upon inspection, the police initially determined that the jewelry weighed more than 80 taels of 18-karat gold, and at the same time made a record of temporary detention for handling according to regulations.
At around 6:30 p.m. on November 30, at MT gold shop (Chau Thanh town), an incident occurred where two subjects used guns to rob gold. Immediately after receiving the report, the Provincial Police Department directed the Criminal Police Department to coordinate with police units and localities to quickly investigate the scene and organize the arrest of the perpetrators.
During the night, the police arrested Lai The Viet (21 years old, residing in Tam Hung commune, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city) while he was hiding in Tien Giang. The remaining subject, Huynh Hai Quang (37 years old, residing in Hamlet 9, Ward 4, Tra Vinh city), was in a traffic accident in Binh Phu commune, Cang Long district, Tra Vinh province while fleeing and died on the spot.
