Using a box cutter to rob a gold shop unsuccessfully, Nguyen Xuan Duy in Thanh Hai commune (Thanh Ha, Hai Duong) was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison.

On the morning of December 18, Thanh Ha District People's Court held a first-instance trial and sentenced Nguyen Xuan Duy (born in 2002, in An Liet 3 village, Thanh Hai commune) to 8 years and 6 months in prison for robbery.
Previously, at around 6:10 p.m. on September 22, at the 9999 Kien Thu gold and silver store of Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien and Ms. Trinh Hoai Thu (in Xuan An village, Thanh Khe commune, now Thanh Ha town), Duy held a box cutter and threatened Mr. Trinh Cong Bach, a salesman, in order to appropriate money and gold from Mr. Kien and Ms. Thu and cause injury to Mr. Kien, then he was arrested.
Duy is a freelance worker, has 2 siblings, and has no criminal record. Due to drug addiction, at the end of May 2024, the Chairman of Thanh Hai Commune People's Committee decided to apply measures to manage illegal drug users for a period of 1 year to Duy.
