Meta's New AI Tool Can Generate Music or Sounds From Just Text Requests
On August 2, Meta (parent company of Facebook) launched an open-source artificial intelligence (AI) tool called AudioCraft.
This tool promises to help users create music or audio tracks from just text requests.
AudioCraft consists of three smaller tools, AudioGen, EnCodec and MusicGen. Each tool is used for different activities such as creating music, creating sound effects, etc.
In this group, MusicGen is set up to use the music library owned by the company Meta, in addition to songs and music that have been specifically licensed.
However, artists and experts in the music industry still express concerns about copyright infringement.
The reason is that this AI tool still works based on the mechanism of recognizing and replicating available patterns in the database collected from the Internet.
Earlier this year, Alphabet (Google's parent company) also introduced an experimental AI tool capable of generating sound called MusicLM.
