After the second half of September and October with the massive launch of a series of new cars, November also promises to be a busy time when many notable names will be introduced and brought to Vietnamese customers.
Below are the new car models expected to be launched in November:
According to information from some Toyota dealers, the most premium MPV model of the Japanese car company Alphard is expected to launch in November and is also the last model launched by Toyota in the Vietnamese market after Wigo, Yaris Cross and Innova Cross. Dealers are accepting deposits for this "ground plane" at a price of about 4.5 billion VND.
In Vietnam, Toyota Alphard is a popular MPV model thanks to its large size, spacious space, luxury, and rugged design. However, the high selling price of up to 4.37 billion VND despite being officially distributed makes this model not for the majority and often in the top 10 slowest selling cars on the market.
In its fourth generation, in addition to the all-new Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, the luxury MPV has replaced the familiar 3.5L V6 engine with a new 2.4L turbocharged engine coded T24A-FTS, producing 278 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The dimensions of the Toyota Alphard 2024 have changed when it has been extended, with a length of 5,010 mm but a width of 1,850 mm and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm unchanged compared to the previous generation. According to the Japanese car company, the new chassis and suspension system have improved stiffness by 50%, while improving maximum comfort for customers.
In addition, the interior of the Alphard has also been refreshed with many high-quality materials. The infotainment system is more impressive thanks to the 14-inch central screen, connecting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Behind the steering wheel is a 12.3-inch digital screen and a head-up display (HUD).
Other standard equipment includes wireless phone charging, 15-speaker JBL premium sound system, heated steering wheel, electric/heated/cooled driver's seat, etc. Along with that is a series of the most advanced safety equipment of the Japanese car company, including the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 driver assistance system.
Mitsubishi Xforce is the most anticipated name in the Vietnamese market in late 2023. Previously, in August, Mitsubishi's urban SUV model was launched in the Southeast Asian market in Indonesia.
According to information from some Mitsubishi sales consultants, the Xforce urban SUV model will be launched in the Vietnamese market in the last days of 2023 and reach customers in early 2024. The above information has not been confirmed by the Japanese car company, however, on the homepage of Mitsubishi Vietnam, deposits for this new model have been opened.
Mitsubishi Xforce is equipped with a 1.5L MIVEC DOHC 16-valve, 4-cylinder engine, with a maximum capacity of 105 horsepower, maximum torque of 141 Nm, with a CVT gearbox and front-wheel drive system.
With dimensions of length x width x height of 4,390 x 1,810 x 1,660 (mm), wheelbase of 2,650 mm, minimum turning radius of 5.2 m, ground clearance of 222 mm, Mitsubishi Xforce is positioned in the B-SUV segment with "heavyweight" competitors such as Hyundai Creta, KIA Seltos, Honda HR-V, Toyota Yaris Cross and Toyota Corolla Cross.
After many missed appointments, MG HS 2023 is likely to be launched in the Vietnamese market next November. Currently, the above information has not been confirmed by MG Vietnam, but images of this car model have appeared in Vietnam for many months, while there is not much time left in 2023.
The MG HS 2023 is a mid-life facelift with many changes. Most notably, this crossover model, once labeled as a Chinese car, has been imported from Thailand, promising a better price than the old model, as cars originating from this market are exempt from taxes when imported to Vietnam.
According to some dealers, MG HS 2023 will be sold in 2 versions Trophy and Sport with expected prices of 750 and 900 million VND respectively. Compared to models in the C-size SUV/crossover segment, this price is quite good but will still face competitive pressure from the heavyweight rival Mazda CX-5 (with prices from 749-999 million VND).
In Thailand, the MG HS 2023 has 2 engine options, including a gasoline engine and a plug-in hybrid engine. Of which, the model brought to Vietnam is likely to use only a 1.5L gasoline engine, with a capacity of 162 horsepower and a maximum torque of 249 Nm, combined with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Suzuki Jimny is expected to launch in Vietnam at the end of November this year but there is no official price yet. Recently, this SUV model is said to have increased the deposit price by more than 100 million compared to before, up to about 900 million. However, this price is still only the expected price and there is no further information from Visuco.
The Suzuki Jimny that will be sold in Vietnam is a three-door version and is imported completely from Japan. The car has quite modest dimensions of length x width x height, respectively 3,645 x 1,645 x 1,720 (mm) while the wheelbase is only 2,250 mm.
This small SUV will use a 1.5L gasoline engine, with a maximum capacity of 102 horsepower and a maximum torque of 130Nm, with a 4-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive system. Based on the above parameters, Jimny is classified in the A-SUV segment, but the customer base of this model is not the same as Toyota Raize, KIA Sonet or VinFast VF5 Plus.
Previously, information about the Suzuki Jimny being launched to Vietnamese customers had been circulating since the beginning of this year. At that time, the car model caused a stir and was compared to the name "mini G-Class" because it was an off-road vehicle with an impressive appearance but cheap price.
Along with a series of high-chassis vehicles, Mazda's B-class sedan is also expected to launch a mid-life upgrade (facelift) at the end of this year. Compared to the old version, the Mazda2 2023 does not have too many differences, still imported from Thailand with 2 variants: sedan and hatchback.
Previously, at the end of June, Mazda2 2023 was officially introduced in Thailand. In this upgrade, the overall design of the car has not changed much. The main difference lies in the grille and wheels, in which the grille has a honeycomb shape or another closed design inspired by electric vehicles, with only a small gap around the logo.
The 2023 Mazda2 sold in Thailand has 2 engine options: a 1.3L gasoline engine with 93 horsepower and 123 Nm of torque and a 1.5L diesel engine with 105 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Both versions use front-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
According to some dealers, the Mazda2 2023 imported to Vietnam only has a 1.5L gasoline engine version like the current version. Although not officially launched, the standard Mazda2 2023 version is being offered by many dealers for 415-429 million VND, depending on the promotion program.
Previously, in October, the Vietnamese automobile market welcomed a series of new car models launched and delivered to customers. These include Toyota Innova Cross, Peugeot 408, new generation Honda CR-V or before that, the VinFast VF 6 electric car model.
