In the coming days of May, a series of new car models will be "on air" and delivered to customers in the Vietnamese market, most of which are still high-chassis hybrid models.
Toyota Corolla Cross 2024
According to an announcement from Toyota Vietnam, the Corolla Cross 2024 model will officially launch in the Vietnamese market on May 6. However, this is just a facelift version with a few minor upgrades, not a new generation.
Notably, the new Toyota Corolla Cross that is about to go on sale will only have 2 versions: V (1.8L gasoline engine) and HV (hybrid), not the previous G version. The selling price of this model has been announced by Toyota Vietnam as 820 million VND for the V version and 905 million VND for the hybrid version, respectively, 40-50 million VND cheaper than the old version.
The exterior changes of the Toyota Corolla Cross 2024 are on the front with a new grille and wheel design. In terms of equipment, the new version of the Toyota Corolla Cross is equipped with many notable new features such as: electronic handbrake, wireless charging and a larger entertainment touch screen.
In 2023, Toyota Vietnam sold a total of 10,485 Corolla Cross units, ranking second among Toyota models after Vios (with 13,521 units) and is still the Japanese automaker's strategic model in Vietnam.
Toyota Hilux 2024
In addition to the new Corolla Cross version, Toyota Vietnam also plans to soon launch two more 2-wheel drive versions of the Hilux pickup model: 4x4 MT 2.4L with basic equipment and the most advanced version Hilux Adventure 2.8 4x4 AT. The vehicle will still be imported completely from Thailand.
The price of Toyota Hilux is reported by dealers to be between nearly 700 million and over 900 million VND. Previously, in 2023, this pickup model was only imported to Vietnam in a single 4x2 AT 1-wheel automatic version, using a 2.4L engine with rear-wheel drive, with a listed price of 852 million VND.

In 2023, Toyota's pickup model sold only 134 units, ranking last in the pickup truck group, and was in the top 10 slowest-selling models of the year in the Vietnamese market.
Mitsubishi Triton 2024
Another pickup truck that may soon be launched is the Mitsubishi Triton. This is a new generation model and has actually been spotted testing at several locations in Hanoi, signaling that the launch date of this pickup truck is not far away.
Although there has been no official confirmation from Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam, according to some sources, Triton 2024 will be launched in May, still imported from Thailand.
Compared to the current version, the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is newly designed with a more square, sporty and aggressive style. This pickup truck is equipped with a completely new 2.4L turbocharged diesel engine, producing 204 horsepower and 470Nm of torque, combined with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, with a 1-wheel or 2-wheel drive system.
Mitsubishi Triton currently has 3 versions priced from 650-905 million VND. With the launch of the new generation, many people believe that Triton will continue to firmly maintain its 2nd position in the pickup truck segment in Vietnam. In 2023, this model sold 2,572 units in Vietnam, still behind the "pickup king" Ford Ranger.
Haval Jolion
According to some sources, the imported car model from China, Haval Jolion, will also be launched in the Vietnamese market in May and can be delivered to customers around the third quarter of this year. In fact, many dealers have already received deposits with an estimated price of about 700 million VND.
"Entering the B-SUV segment", Haval Jolion will be a new competitor of Mitsubishi XForce, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Yaris Cross, Kia Seltos, Honda HR-V,... Like its predecessor Haval H6, Jolion is also equipped with a hybrid engine with a capacity of 190 horsepower and maximum torque of 375 Nm.
