The newly bought car caught fire while driving home.

On the afternoon of December 23, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7 (Department 6, Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security) said it was coordinating with related professional units to investigate the cause of a car fire on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway.

Earlier that afternoon, driver VVH (49 years old, residing in Xuan Thoi Dong commune, Hoc Mon district, Ho Chi Minh City) drove a car with a Long An province license plate on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway, in the direction from the western provinces to Ho Chi Minh City.

When traveling to Tan Ly Dong commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province, the car caught fire from the front. Upon discovering the incident, driver H. moved the car into the emergency lane, then quickly left the car with his passenger and tried to put out the fire, but were unsuccessful.

Upon receiving the news, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7 quickly arrived at the scene to regulate traffic.

At the same time, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Tien Giang Province Police also dispatched 2 fire trucks and many officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire.

After about 30 minutes, the fire brigade put out the fire. There were no casualties but the car was completely burned down.

After a quick discussion with the traffic police, the driver stated that he had just bought the car at a store in Ben Tre province for 100 million VND, and that it caught fire on the way home.

Police are continuing to investigate and clarify the cause of the car fire.
