11 years in prison for organizing others to escape abroad

Defendant Huyen was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

From January to May 2021, Huyen was discussed and persuaded by Bui Van Hieu (born in 1993, in Dong Hoi village, Hong Lac commune, Thanh Ha), Director of VIC HD International Education and Cooperation Company Limited, located at 92 Lac Long Quan street, Hai Tan ward (Hai Duong city) to find people to work abroad in Canada. Although he knew that this company did not have the function of sending people to work abroad and was not an employee of the company, but because he believed that Hieu could send people to work in Canada with the purpose of profiting from this, Huyen, as the head of the company's recruitment department, searched, persuaded, enticed, and directly signed service consulting contracts with those in need.

During that time, Huyen directly received money and documents from 24 people and through 7 intermediaries, received money and documents from 34 others. The total amount of money Huyen received from these 58 people was more than 13 billion VND. After that, Huyen transferred all of the above money to Hieu to complete the procedures to apply for Visas for them. Hieu transferred all of the Visas of the above people to Huyen.

On May 15, 2021, Huyen and 55 others gathered at a hotel to prepare to leave for Canada on May 18, 2021, when the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security) coordinated an inspection and discovered 59 fake passports in Huyen's luggage.

At the end of the trial, the court sentenced Huyen to 11 years in prison.

Regarding Hieu, the Ministry of Public Security's Security Investigation Agency has prosecuted and issued a wanted warrant for the crime of organizing others to flee abroad.
