The first writing ceremony of spring at Chu Van An temple (Chi Linh city, Hai Duong) took place on the morning of January 8 with many traditional rituals.
On the morning of February 5 (January 8, At Ty year), at Chu Van An temple in Van An ward, Chi Linh city, the first writing ceremony of spring was held.
Comrade Tran Duc Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee attended and performed the drum beating ceremony to open the writing.
Attending the opening ceremony were comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of a number of departments, branches and Chi Linh City.
Also attending were leaders of Thanh Tri district (Hanoi), the hometown of teacher Chu Van An; leaders of localities twinned with Chi Linh city.
The opening ceremony began with the incense offering ceremony to pay tribute to the great teacher of the ten thousand generations, the famous Chu Van An. The funeral oration and the incense offering ceremony were performed by Mr. Tran Quang Son and the elders of the Van An ward's funeral team. The funeral oration commemorated the merits and paid tribute to the great teacher of Vietnamese Confucianism, the great teacher of the ten thousand generations, Chu Van An.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Linh City Nguyen Tuan Hung emphasized that the opening ceremony is "opening words, opening hearts, opening minds, opening careers, opening careers". Calligrapher Pham Hung, Provincial Calligraphy Club, performed the opening act in Chinese with 4 characters "Hung Vuong Phat Dat" (meaning: prosperity, development, achieving the set goals and tasks).
The leaders wrote the first 10 Vietnamese characters of 2025: "People follow one heart, enjoy happiness for a hundred years, every family is in harmony, everything is successful and prosperous". The characters written at the first writing were presented to Master Chu Van An in the temple.
Students attending the ceremony this year also simultaneously wrote at Chu Van An temple on the blank character "Learning" according to the saying "Learning is just an eye, action has legs, with eyes and legs we can progress" by teacher Chu Van An.
On this occasion, Chi Linh City awarded 23 outstanding students with excellent achievements and high prizes in exams. At the opening ceremony, Chi Linh City's Scholarship Fund received over 600 million VND donated by businesses and business households.
The opening ceremony also included a calligraphy exchange with the participation of 5 calligraphy artists from the provincial Han Nom Club demonstrating calligraphy skills.
The teacher of the world - teacher Chu Van An (1292-1370) was born in Quang Liet village, Thanh Dam district (now Van village, Thanh Liet commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi). Chu Van An passed the Thai Hoc Sinh exam but did not become an official but opened a school to teach. He had great contributions in promoting and forming Confucian ethics and ideology with Vietnamese identity. He was famous for his profound knowledge and pure heart, uprightness, and noble morality, and was admired and respected by everyone. Chu Van An was invited by King Tran Minh Tong to be the Vice-Rector of the Imperial Academy, teaching the crown prince and children of officials.
During the reign of King Du Tong, he saw that his powerful ministers were doing many immoral things. He submitted a petition to behead seven corrupt officials, but the king did not listen, so he returned his robes and hat, hung up his seal, and resigned from office.
