The People's Council of Hai Duong province has issued a resolution to support funding to train overseas students from Vientiane province (Laos) to study Vietnamese language in Hai Duong province.

The resolution stipulates four support contents for 15 Lao students, including: support for training costs for regular expenses, one-time expenses for the entire course, other expenses...; support for living expenses; support for initial supplies such as clothes, school bags, blankets, mosquito nets...; support for travel expenses from Laos to Vietnam.
The total estimated support budget is over 1.8 billion VND. The funding source is allocated from the Hai Duong provincial state budget through Hai Duong University to support 15 Laotian students.
Support period from December 15, 2024 to November 30, 2025.

On December 20, 2024, the Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong coordinated to welcome a group of 15 Lao students to study at Hai Duong University under the cooperation agreement between Hai Duong province and Vientiane province (Laos) for the period 2024-2028.
In the first year, Lao students study the Vietnamese language program, then continue to study majors at some universities in Hai Duong. During their time studying and living in Hai Duong, Lao students will be arranged to stay in dormitories and study at the Hai Duong University campus in Lien Hong commune (Hai Duong city).
