Earlier this week, several Israeli tanks and armored personnel carriers were seen massing in a field in the north of the country, just a few kilometers from the border with Lebanon. However, the next day, they were all gone.

Evidence of the presence of these vehicles were several empty ammunition crates and tank tracks on the ground.

According to Sky News, it is not clear where the tanks are going, but with hundreds of Hezbollah rockets fired into the area in recent days, it is unsafe for them to stay in one location for a long time, regardless of whether they move to southern Lebanon or not.

Sky News reporters said they drove closer to the border, where they could see Lebanese and Israeli homes on either side of the hills, communities united by geography but divided by war.

Despite being far from the Israeli-Lebanese border, journalists could hear distant gunfire as Israeli troops clashed with Hezbollah inside Lebanon. In addition to the explosions of artillery shells, drones buzzed overhead.

Hezbollah, with tens of thousands of fighters and long-range missiles capable of striking deep into Israeli territory, is the world's most powerful non-state force.

The Iran-backed militant group began firing into northern Israel a day after Hamas launched a surprise raid into southern Israel on October 7. Since then, some 60,000 Israelis have fled villages, cities and border communities.

Israel now sees the return of all displaced people to their homes as a key goal of its widening campaign against Hezbollah, which began last month and expanded into a ground offensive a few days ago.
