Early on October 7, Israeli police announced that Hezbollah launched a rocket attack on Haifa, Israel's third largest city. Meanwhile, the country's media reported that 10 people were injured in the northern part of the country.
Hezbollah said it targeted a military base south of Haifa with a barrage of “Fadi 1” rockets. Media reports said two of the rockets hit Haifa. Israeli police said several buildings and property were damaged, with some minor injuries reported.
Earlier, on October 6, Lebanese national media reported on Israeli airstrikes in the south of the capital Beirut, right after the Israeli army called on people to evacuate Hezbollah's stronghold - an area that has been continuously bombed for many days.
On the same day, the Syrian Defense Ministry said Israel carried out airstrikes on military positions in central Syria but caused no casualties. The ministry's statement said the attack occurred at around 20:05 local time on military sites in central Syria, causing material damage.
