14 foreign TV channels will stop broadcasting on pay TV services in Vietnam from October 1.
According to information from the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information (Ministry of Information and Communications), two companies Disney Networks Group Asia Pacific Limited and Buena Vista International Inc announced that they will stop broadcasting many TV channels in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong, including Vietnam.
Specifically, Disney Networks will stop broadcasting up to 12 TV channels and Buena Vista will stop broadcasting 2 channels. These channels will stop broadcasting from October 1.

According to the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, in Vietnam, the list of foreign television channels that will stop broadcasting on pay-TV services next month includes Fox channels such as: Fox Movies, Fox Family Movies, Fox Action Movies, Fox Life, Fox Crime, Fox Sports, Fox Sports 2, Fox Sports 3.
In addition, many other familiar TV channels including Channel V, FX, National Geographic People, Disney Channel and Disney Junior will also stop broadcasting from October 1.
Currently, the license to provide these 14 foreign channels on pay TV services in Vietnam by authorized agents is valid until September 30.
On August 18, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information issued a document requesting that pay TV service providers have a plan to promptly notify subscribers to ensure their rights in accordance with the law and service provision contracts.
At the same time, the Department also requires businesses to urgently review the list of foreign TV channels currently provided on the service to have appropriate business plans, starting from October 1.
