Hai Duong ranked 5th in the overall athletics team of the National Phu Dong Sports Festival, Region II.

The athletics event in the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024, Region II in Bac Ninh took place from May 10-15, with the participation of 341 athletes from 12 provinces and cities, including: Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Hai Phong and Hanoi.

The Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong province has 18 athletes competing in the following events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m (male, female), 1,500m men; high jump, long jump (male, female); mixed relay (male, female); 4x100m relay women, 4x100m relay men.

As a result, the Hai Duong Department of Education and Training delegation won 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 7 bronze medals and ranked 5th overall. According to the medal table, Hai Duong delegation ranked 3rd out of 12 participating delegations. This is an encouraging achievement because Hai Duong delegation had fewer participating athletes than the remaining provinces and cities.

From May 23-31, the athlete delegation of Hai Duong Department of Education and Training will continue to compete in a number of sports in Thai Nguyen in the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival 2024, Region II.
