On the morning of August 6, the Department of Education and Training informed that Hai Duong ranked first in athletics at the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024.
At this competition, Hai Duong ranked 18th in the overall medal table. The Hai Duong athletes won 88 medals, including 21 gold medals, 25 silver medals and 42 bronze medals. Hai Duong was also in the top 20 provinces and cities receiving flags for their good achievements at the sports festival. This is also Hai Duong's best achievement since the 7th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2008.

The 2024 National Phu Dong Sports Festival will take place in Hai Phong City from July 25 to August 6. The Hai Duong delegation has 64 athletes and 14 officials and coaches, competing in 6 events: athletics (20 athletes), chess (16 athletes), table tennis (8 athletes), karate (7 athletes), vovinam (7 athletes), badminton (6 athletes).
