Hai Duong offers incense and flowers to commemorate the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh

On the morning of May 14, at Uncle Ho Memorial House in Vu Thuong area, Ai Quoc ward (Hai Duong city), the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Duong province solemnly held an incense offering and flower offering ceremony to pay tribute and commemorate President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Uncle Ho's third visit to the cadres and people of the province (April 1, 1959 - April 1, 2024), the 134th anniversary of his birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024) and the 76th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948 - June 11, 2024).

Comrades: Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the ceremony. Comrades, members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee; heads of agencies advising and assisting the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of Hai Duong City and a large number of cadres and people of Ai Quoc ward also attended the ceremony.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, leaders, delegates and people were moved to recall and remember Uncle Ho's great contributions to the nation, his deep affection and concern for Hai Duong province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang emphasized that although President Ho Chi Minh has passed away, he has left us with a lot of love and extremely valuable legacies, which are his ideology, morality and shining style.

During his lifetime, Uncle Ho had a special affection for Hai Duong. Hai Duong was honored to welcome Uncle Ho to visit 5 times, the third of which was on April 1, 1959. The 65th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Hai Duong and the 134th anniversary of his birth is a significant political event, an occasion for the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Duong to express their deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh. At the same time, it is an opportunity to encourage and motivate cadres, party members and people in the province to promote the strength of solidarity, remember Uncle Ho's teachings, promote patriotic emulation movements, and be determined to successfully complete the goals and tasks set out in the new period.

Following Uncle Ho's teaching "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation; those who emulate are the most patriotic", in recent years, the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Duong province have always been united, dynamic, creative, promoting the patriotic emulation movement, achieving many important achievements in all fields.

Currently, Hai Duong's economy has continuously achieved good growth. The economic structure has shifted towards increasing the proportion of industry and services. Hai Duong currently ranks 11th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of economic scale. Since 2017, Hai Duong has balanced its budget. The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the 2021-2023 period increased by an average of 8.58% per year. Economic growth in the first quarter of 2024 reached 9.8%, ranking 6th in the country and 2nd in the Red River Delta. Hai Duong is also one of the first 5 provinces in the country to complete the task of building new rural areas. The cultural and social sectors have developed stably and have many innovations. The educational network and scale are increasingly suitable. The work of protecting and taking care of people's health has made much progress. Poverty reduction, job creation, and social security have been effectively implemented. Defense and security are ensured. Foreign relations are strengthened and expanded.

To express his infinite gratitude to beloved President Ho Chi Minh as well as his special affection for the Party Committee and people of Hai Duong province, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang requested the entire Party Committee and people of the province to continue to arouse and promote the strength of solidarity, revolutionary tradition, and compete to successfully implement the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the 17th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term. Party committees, authorities and organizations at all levels continue to have creative and practical solutions and ways to effectively implement Directive 05 of the Politburo on promoting and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle and Resolution of the 4th Central Committee (12th tenure) on strengthening Party building and rectification. Do a good job of inspection and supervision; continue to promote the exemplary role of cadres and party members, especially leaders. The Party Committee, government and people of Hai Duong province promise to continue to implement his Will and instructions; vow to be forever loyal to the ideals and socialist path that the Party and Uncle Ho have chosen. Determined to soon turn the province into a modern industrial province and a "model province" as Uncle Ho always wished.

On May 31, 1957, on his way from Hai Phong to Hanoi, President Ho Chi Minh visited the people of Ai Quoc ward (formerly Ai Quoc commune, Nam Sach district). He visited some families in Vu Thuong area, kindly asking about their lives. He praised Ai Quoc farmers for not only being good at fighting but also good at production. He instructed the people on how to build a good "Work Exchange Team" and the direction for local economic development; advised the people to unite well, actively study popular education and culture so that "they can improve techniques and produce more rice, corn and potatoes". When leaving, he also looked at the newly harvested rice and lifted the squash that the people of the commune had grown. Uncle Ho advised: "This year's harvest is good, but don't neglect vegetables".
