Father and son killed someone while resolving a conflict

The Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police said it is temporarily detaining Huynh Tri Thanh (born in 1979, residing in My Long Ward, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province) and Huynh Tien Dat (born in 2005, Thanh's son) to continue investigating the act of "Murder".

Initial information shows that Dat and Nguyen Phuc Huy (born in 2002, residing in My Hoa ward, Long Xuyen city) had a conflict on Facebook before.

At around 8:00 p.m. on August 25, while he was drunk, Dat heard that his girlfriend had a conflict with Huy's girlfriend on social media, so Dat texted Huy to invite him to a fight, and Huy agreed.

About 15 minutes later, Huy brought a switchblade to Dat's house. The two argued and challenged each other to fight. Dat ran into the house and took out two homemade knives to fight Huy. At the same time, Thanh (Dat's biological father) came down from upstairs.

During the fight, Huy used a switchblade to stab Dat and his son, causing injuries. Huy was slashed multiple times by Dat and his son with a homemade knife. Huy ran away for a while before collapsing and dying at the scene.

Immediately after the incident, My Long Ward Police in collaboration with the Criminal Police of Long Xuyen City and the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police arrested Dat and took Thanh to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, while coordinating with the functional forces to organize a crime scene investigation, autopsy, and investigation to clarify the matter.
