On July 12, at Vo Thi Sau Primary School, Hai Duong City Culture-Information-Sports Center organized the 2024 Summer Youth and Children's Chess Tournament.

This is one of the activities to celebrate the 220th anniversary of the founding of Thanh Dong (1804-2024) and the 70th anniversary of the city's liberation (October 30, 1954-October 30, 2024).

The 2024 Hai Duong City Summer Youth and Children's Chess Tournament attracted nearly 80 players from 25 wards and communes in the city. The players competed in 4 groups: boys, girls (11 years old and under), boys, girls (12-15 years old). The players competed in 7 rounds of Swiss system, each round lasting 15 minutes.

After a day of competition, the tournament found the 4 best players in 4 groups to award first prizes. They are: Ha Binh An (Le Thanh Nghi ward) first prize for male youth, Nguyen Thu Hien (Cam Thuong ward) first prize for female youth, Dang Viet Hoang (Ngoc Son commune) first prize for male children, Le Khanh Ly (Gia Xuyen commune) first prize for female children.
