Hai Duong City won first place in the fast chess and standard chess competitions at the secondary school level.
On the afternoon of January 26, at the Provincial Sports Gymnasium, the Department of Education and Training closed the Provincial Primary and Secondary School Chess Tournament for the 2023-2024 school year within the framework of the 2024 Hai Duong Province Phu Dong Sports Festival.
As a result, in the primary school rapid chess category, Cam Giang district ranked first overall; Hai Duong city, Tu Ky district ranked second; Kim Thanh, Nam Sach, and Ninh Giang districts ranked third overall.
In the rapid chess content at the secondary school level, Hai Duong city ranked first overall; Tu Ky and Gia Loc districts ranked second; Nam Sach and Kim Thanh districts and Chi Linh city ranked third overall.

In the primary school standard chess competition, Ninh Giang district ranked first; Hai Duong city and Tu Ky district ranked second; Nam Sach, Kim Thanh, and Cam Giang districts ranked third.

In the individual tournaments for rapid chess and standard chess, the Organizing Committee awarded 36 gold medals, 72 silver medals, 108 bronze medals and 216 consolation prizes.

The tournament took place from January 23-26, attracting nearly 650 students from grades 1-9 of primary and secondary schools from teams of 12 districts, towns and cities. The tournament had the largest number of students participating ever.
