The Ferrari 812 convertible supercar that just appeared in Ho Chi Minh City costs no less than 20 billion VND and may end up in the hands of Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu if it doesn't have an owner yet.
GT supercars are not popular in Vietnam despite their eye-catching design, impressive performance and suitability for long journeys. For example, the Ferrari 599 model has only 2 units in our country, or the F12 Berlinetta model has more with 5 units in the hands of Vietnamese tycoons. Aston Martin's GT lines such as DB11 or Vantage are no exception as their quantity is quite small.
However, a famous car showroom in Ho Chi Minh City recently surprised everyone by importing a Ferrari 812 GTS - a convertible version of the 812. More specifically, the car has a Rosso 70th Anniversary red paint color - a color that has never appeared on the previous two 812s in our country.
Up to now, the Vietnamese tycoon has brought home about 3 Ferrari 812s, including the Superfast (hardtop) and GTS (convertible) versions. All were imported through private entities. The black Superfast is currently owned by Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu, the red version is still in the hands of a secretive Hanoi tycoon.
It is not yet clear whether the 812 GTS that has just arrived in Vietnam has an owner or not. However, if the car is put up for sale on the market, many opinions say that Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu will most likely buy it to add to his car collection worth thousands of billions.
He is a fan of cars from the Italian Prancing Horse brand, especially the GT line, owning a 599, 3 F12 Berlinettas and an 812 Superfast. It is completely understandable that he bought an 812 GTS at the present time.
Compared to the hardtop version (Superfast), the biggest difference on the Ferrari 812 GTS is the folding roof that can be opened/closed by an electric motor in just 14 seconds even when the car is rolling at a speed of less than 45 km/h. In addition, the design changes slightly when there is no longer a tilted glass section from the roof extending down to the rear.
The Ferrari 812 GTS's naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine is front-mounted instead of mid-mounted. This machine produces a maximum capacity of 789 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and maximum torque of 718 Nm at 7,000 rpm. This is also the most powerful naturally aspirated engine Ferrari has ever produced.
According to the manufacturer, this supercar can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 340 km/h. The car uses a rear-wheel drive system and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The selling price of the Ferrari 812 GTS has not been disclosed, but at the time of launch, each car cost from 450,000 USD (equivalent to about 11.2 billion VND). However, depending on additional options and being purchased by many rich people, the value of the car on the market can increase from 100,000-200,000 USD depending on the car. It is estimated that the price of the car after arriving in Vietnam is over 20 billion VND.
