The 24th year of the Road to Olympia program has changed the rules of the Warm-up round and increased the score in the Obstacle Course round.
These changes were announced by the program organizers in the opening match of the 24th Road to Olympia, which was broadcast on October 15. Accordingly, in the Warm-up round of the 24th Road to Olympia, there will be 4 separate rounds for each contestant and 1 general round for all 4 contestants.
Specifically, 4 candidates will take turns answering each round with 6 separate questions in the following fields: natural sciences, social sciences, culture - sports - arts, celebrities, events, other fields...
For each question, the contestant has 5 seconds (from the time the MC finishes reading the question or from the time the contestant has the right to answer that question) to give his/her answer. Each correct answer is worth 10 points, and each wrong answer is worth zero points.
Then, all 4 contestants will answer the same round with 12 questions. Contestants will have the right to answer by ringing the bell, each correct answer is worth 10 points. Thus, the maximum score that a contestant can win in this round is 180 points when answering all questions correctly.
In the Obstacle Course, the 24th year of the program also changed the scoring structure. If any contestant answers the obstacle before the question in the second row appears, that person will get 60 points. The score will be reduced by 50, 40, and 30 points respectively.
If any contestant answers the obstacle after turning over the center box, they will get 20 points. Thus, the score of the Obstacle Contest has increased compared to before. In the 23rd year of Road to Olympia, the contestant who answered the obstacle correctly in the first horizontal line only got 50 points, in 2 horizontal lines got 40 points, in 3 horizontal lines got 30 points, in 4 horizontal lines got 20 points, after the last hint got 10 points.
The rules of the Acceleration and Finishing rounds remain the same as the 23rd Road to Olympia.
After the first week of the first month of the first quarter, contestant Do Thi Phuong Thao (student of Hoang Quoc Viet High School, Quang Ninh) was the first contestant to win the laurel wreath of the 24th Road to Olympia with 274 points.
Contestant Nguyen Dinh Nam Khanh (student of Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, Ha Tinh) came in second with 180 points; followed by Dang Vo Minh Thu (Le Quy Don High School, Hau Giang) with 130 points and Le Duy Thinh (Me Linh High School, Hanoi) with 95 points.
