The meteorological agency forecasts that in the next 12 hours, the Thao River flood in Yen Bai will continue to drop to alert level II, and the Red River flood in Hanoi will change slowly.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has just issued an urgent flood warning on Cau River, Thuong River, Hoang Long River and Thai Binh River; flood warning on Thao River, Lo River, Luc Nam River and Red River.
Specifically, floods on Cau River (Bac Ninh Province), Thuong River (Bac Giang Province), Thai Binh River (Hai Duong City), and Red River (Hanoi City) are rising.
Floods on the Thao River in Yen Bai and Phu Tho, floods on the Lo River in Tuyen Quang and Vu Quang are receding. Floods on the Hoang Long River (Ninh Binh Province), and on the Luc Nam River (Bac Giang Province) are changing slowly.
Water level at 1:00 a.m. on September 12 on Thao River in Yen Bai was 31.79m, 0.21m below alarm level III; at Phu Tho 17.42m, 0.08m below alarm level I; on Cau River at Dap Cau 7.62m, 1.32m above alarm level III; on Thuong River at Phu Lang Thuong 7.23m, 0.93m above alarm level III; on Luc Nam River at Luc Nam 6.28m, 0.02m below alarm level III; on Lo River at Tuyen Quang 26.14m, 0.14m above alarm level III; at Vu Quang 20.94m, 0.44m above alarm level III.
Flood on Hoang Long River at Ben De is 4.50m, 0.5m above alert level III; on Thai Binh River at Pha Lai is 6.16m, 0.16m above alert level III; on Red River in Hanoi is 11.26m, 0.24m below alert level III.
In the next 12 hours, the flood on Thao River in Yen Bai will continue to drop to alert level II, the flood on Lo River in Tuyen Quang and Vu Quang will drop below alert level III. The flood on Cau River will continue to rise above alert level III, and the flood on Thuong River will slowly change above alert level III.
Floods on the Luc Nam River will change slowly at alert level III, and on the Thai Binh River will continue to rise above alert level III. Floods on the Hoang Long River will change slowly above alert level III, and on the Red River in Hanoi will change slowly above alert level II and below alert level III.
In the next 12-24 hours, flood on Thao River in Yen Bai continues to drop to alert level I. Flood on Lo River in Tuyen Quang and Vu Quang drops below alert level II, on Cau River changes slowly above alert level III.
Floods on the Thuong River will change slowly above alert level III. Floods on the Luc Nam River will change slowly above alert level III, on the Thai Binh River will change slowly above alert level III, and on the Hoang Long River will change slowly above alert level III.
The meteorological agency warned that in the next 24 hours, the water level at downstream stations of the Red River - Thai Binh River system will rise to alert level III and above alert level III. Rising flood water levels will cause flooding in low-lying areas along the river, alluvial areas outside the main dike, causing the riverbank dykes to overflow, and landslides of dykes and embankments that can seriously affect vulnerable locations along the river in the following provinces/cities: Hanoi, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh.
In the coming hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in many districts in 16 provinces. Specifically:
