Floods on Thao River are receding, landslides are at risk in Quang Binh and Ha Tinh due to heavy rain.
Floods on the Thao River in Yen Bai have peaked and are receding. There is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes in some provinces of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh.
Telegram on flood response on Thao River
On October 1, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued telegram No. 7393/CD-BNN on flood response on Thao River.

It is forecasted that from October 1 to 2, the water level of Thao River will continue to rise rapidly. During this flood, the flood peak on small rivers in Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces is likely to reach alert level 2 - alert level 3.
Floods on rivers show signs of decreasing.
Floods on many rivers are receding and are forecast to continue to recede or change slowly over the next 12-24 hours.
Thao River flood forecast in Yen Bai is about to reach level II
The meteorological agency forecasts that in the next 12 hours, the Thao River flood in Yen Bai will continue to drop to alert level II, and the Red River flood in Hanoi will change slowly.
The Thao River flood has flooded many houses and crops.
Due to heavy rain after storm No. 3 in the Northern region, the flood on Thao River rose, reaching above historical flood levels, causing flooding in many places, greatly affecting people's lives as well as traffic.
Floods on Thao River in Yen Bai continue to remain above historical levels
Water level at 1:00 a.m. on September 10 on Thao River in Lao Cai was 86.6m, 3.1m above alert level 3; at Bao Ha it was 61.62m, 0.69m above the historical flood level in 2008 (60.93m); at Yen Bai it was 34.79m, 0.37m above the historical flood level in 1968 (34.42m).
