According to the genealogy of the Nguyen family, the Nguyen family in Chi Minh ward has a history of more than 500 years. Up to now, the Nguyen family has gone through 19 generations. From the 13th to the 19th generation, there are currently more than 5,000 people living, working and studying in and outside the locality. Mr. Nguyen Lap, Chairman of the Nguyen Clan Council of Chi Minh Ward, said that for many generations, generations in the clan have effectively implemented the teachings of their ancestors with the three words: successful study, successful career, and prosperous business. Taking care of studying has always been a priority for generations. In recent years, the Nguyen clan has always encouraged families to closely cooperate with schools to create an educational environment for their children and grandchildren everywhere, at all times. The academic results of students in the clan are not only a daily concern but also a source of pride for the village and commune.

In order to promote learning and talent in a systematic and profound way, in 2015, the Nguyen Family Learning Promotion Board in Chi Minh Ward was established. The collection and expenditure of learning and talent promotion is public and transparent. In addition to the general Learning Promotion Board, the family has 15 Learning Promotion Boards of other branches and factions. The members of the Learning Promotion Board perform their duties with a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm, thereby receiving high support from descendants in the family.

The Nguyen family has also focused on building a scholarship fund as a foundation to maintain the family's scholarship movement. There are two types of funds, the family's general scholarship fund and the branch and sect's separate scholarship funds. The family's general scholarship fund does not collect contributions but is sponsored annually by successful descendants. The branch and sect's scholarship fund is funded by contributions from families and by sponsorship from successful descendants of that branch and sect. The Nguyen family's scholarship fund always maintains more than 100 million VND/year.

The Nguyen Clan Council clearly assigns tasks. The clan's scholarship fund rewards children who pass the entrance exam to grade 10 of high school, university; excellent high school and university students and excellent students at the district level or higher with the amount of 200,000-500,000 VND/child. The scholarship fund of branches and factions rewards excellent primary and secondary school students and those who have excellent student awards at the school and city levels...

The family's scholarship fund gives awards on the occasion of the Ancestor's Death Anniversary in the third lunar month every year at the family temple. The scholarship fund of branches and sects gives awards before the new school year. From the 2017-2018 school year up to now, the family has awarded nearly 900 children with good academic achievements.

Mr. Lap added that the ancestral temple was built in 1921 and has been ranked as a provincial relic. There are still two stone steles carved in 1921.

"Our most effective way to encourage learning is to make sure our children and grandchildren are imbued with the philosophy of encouraging learning and talent, and promote the tradition of studiousness in our family," said Mr. Lap.

Mr. Vu Van Van, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh Ward Association for the Promotion of Education, said that the entire ward has 38 branches of associations for the promotion of education, including 24 branches of clan associations for the promotion of education. The Nguyen clan is a clan with a typical movement for promoting education and talents in the city, and has been awarded many times by the Association for the Promotion of Education at the provincial level, Chi Linh City and Chi Minh Ward. Notably, in 2023, the Nguyen clan was awarded a certificate of merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Education for its outstanding achievements in the movement for promoting education and talents, and building a learning society.
