Although there are no specific statistics, Mr. Nguyen Van Tu, Head of the Education Promotion Committee of the Nguyen Hoa Tru family, estimated that this year there are nearly ten children who have passed university and college entrance exams and are excellent students at all levels. He is very happy because the number of children with high academic achievements in the family is increasing. "That way, the family can be proud of other families," said Mr. Tu.

The Nguyen Hoa Tru family's education promotion committee was established in 2000. Initially, only a few families participated, but now there are more than 300 families. The committee's education promotion fund is mainly contributed and supported by well-off families in the family, and other families support as they wish. Every year, the committee will organize an education promotion award for university students: 300,000 VND/student, college students: 250,000 VND, provincial excellent students: 150,000 VND, school-level excellent students from grades 1 to 12: 100,000 VND, national excellent students will be awarded the same level as university students: 300,000 VND. By the end of 2020, the family's scholarship fund had rewarded 73 students who passed university entrance exams, 27 who passed college entrance exams, 33 provincial excellent students, 32 district excellent students and 3 national excellent students, and provided emergency support to more than a dozen children. Currently, the family's scholarship fund is more than 70 million VND, which is saved and earns interest as a source of rewards and encouragement.

The award ceremony is held every September, when students start a new school year. The family's scholarship fund is also used to reward or encourage students with outstanding achievements. The award ceremony will be held solemnly at the family temple, witnessed by the elders.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh, a relative who is currently serving in the military, recalls the day he was admitted to the Military Technical Academy. At that time, he was one of the first students in his family to receive a gift from the scholarship committee. Although the gift was small, he was very proud.

To maintain the effectiveness of the study promotion work, over the past 20 years, representatives of the Study Promotion Board have spared no effort in gathering and uniting all descendants from the South to the North to mobilize support for the fund and encourage the study movement of their children.

Students in difficult circumstances in the family are supported with cash, the family also mobilizes members to support funds to buy bicycles, books, clothes... for the children.

In addition to supporting and rewarding studious descendants in the family, some family members also regularly support the Thanh Ha Town Education Promotion Fund with an amount of 3-5 million VND/year and support tens of millions of VND to the Thanh Ha District Education Promotion Fund. The Nguyen Hoa Tru family has been awarded many times by the Central Vietnam Association for Education Promotion, the Provincial Association for Education Promotion, and the Thanh Ha District People's Committee for its outstanding achievements in education promotion.

Comrade Nguyen Nang Hung, Party Secretary and Chairman of Thanh Ha Town People's Committee, said that the Nguyen Hoa Tru family is a typical example in the town's movement to encourage learning and talent.
