The University of Commerce (TMU) opens 7 new programs in auditing, marketing, law, Chinese language,... from 2025.
These 7 programs belong to the International Professional Orientation Program (IPOP) group, including Brand Management (Marketing), International Certified Integrated Auditing (Auditing), Economics and Investment Management (Economics), Business Law (Economic Law), E-Commerce (E-Commerce), Information Systems Management (Management Information Systems), Business Chinese (Chinese Language).
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Viet, Vice Principal, said on October 12 that each new program is expected to recruit 80-100 full-time students. The school will use many admission methods, with priority given to students with international English certificates such as IELTS.
Regarding the reason for opening a new major, Mr. Viet said that currently and in the next few years, new graduates will face challenges in using technology, processing big data as well as the demands of businesses for practical experience.
"Therefore, we determined that we had to change our mindset in building training programs," he said.
According to the plan, IPOP students will study intensive English from the first year to reach level 3 out of 6 according to the foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam. From the second year, they will have the opportunity to do internships at enterprises and study specialized subjects in English - equivalent to 30% of the total program duration.
Many trending subjects are included such as Digital Transformation in Enterprises, AI Applications in Business, Big Data Analysis, Problem Solving...
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang, Principal of the University of Commerce, said that the school will continue to collect opinions on the program framework, output standards, and training methods to perfect the program before enrolling students from 2025.
In 2024, the University of Commerce will enroll nearly 5,000 students for 38 training programs, including 8 new IPOP programs.
The main methods used are considering high school graduation exam scores, considering academic records, using test scores to assess capacity and thinking, and combined admission. The standard score based on graduation exam scores is commonly between 25 and 27 for a combination of three subjects.
Tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year at the University of Commerce are 24-26 million VND for the standard program and 35 million VND for the specialized orientation program.
