In 2024, Hanoi National University of Education 2 will continue to open new majors to meet the 2018 General Education Program. This is also an opportunity for candidates who love pedagogy to grasp future job opportunities.
Regarding job opportunities in the History - Geography Pedagogy field, Dr. Nguyen Van Dung, Head of the History Department, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2, said that currently, the whole country still lacks teachers trained in the History - Geography Pedagogy field in secondary schools. In fact, there are no university graduates in this field. Most of the teachers who graduate from university and teach at the secondary level are in a single subject (either Geography Pedagogy or History Pedagogy).
Dr. Nguyen Van Dung also pointed out the fact that teachers who are trained to integrate the two subjects of History and Geography are taught in secondary schools only at the college level (according to the revised Law on Education in 2019, they have not met the standards). If any teacher is trained to the university level, it is a single subject (either History Pedagogy or Geography Pedagogy).
"Currently, secondary schools across the country are in dire need of teachers with formal training in History - Geography Pedagogy at university level. Therefore, job opportunities for graduates of this major are huge," emphasized Dr. Nguyen Van Dung.
The condition for admission to the History - Geography Pedagogy major at Hanoi National University of Education 2 is that candidates must meet the entrance threshold.
