On April 8, the University of Science (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) announced its expected enrollment for full-time undergraduate programs in 2024 with 1,850 students. The school reserves 70% of its enrollment based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam.
In 2024, the University of Science (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) will reserve about 70% of its admission quota based entirely on high school graduation exam scores, 20% based on competency assessment test scores, and the rest on other methods.
The school uses 6 admission methods to enroll students in training programs (CTDT).
Method 1: Direct admission of candidates who are eligible for direct admission according to the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Method 2: Direct admission according to the Project of the University of Natural Sciences: Admission of candidates who are priority candidates for admission, university preparation, direct admission according to the Project and specific regulations, Admissions guidelines of Hanoi National University.
Method 3: Consider candidates whose 2024 high school graduation exam results meet the initial quality assurance threshold set by Hanoi National University.
Admission principles: Candidates can register for an unlimited number of wishes and majors and must arrange their wishes in order of priority from high to low (wish 1 is the highest wish). Candidates are considered equally based on exam results, regardless of the priority order of their registered wishes, but each candidate will only be admitted to the highest priority wish in the list of registered wishes.
The admission score is the total score of the exams/subjects on a 10-point scale for each exam/subject of each admission combination and plus the priority points for subjects and regions according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Each major has only one admission score, regardless of the admission scores between combinations.
For the four majors of Mathematics, Mathematics and Information Technology, Computer Science and Information, and Data Science, the admission score is determined as follows: The admission score on a 40-point scale is the sum of the Math score (multiplied by a coefficient of 2) plus the scores of the two remaining subjects in the admission combination and plus the priority points for subjects and regions according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (converted to a 40-point scale). Each major has only one admission score, without distinguishing the admission scores between combinations.
Method 4: Consider candidates with valid high school student assessment test results organized by Hanoi National University with a minimum score of 80/150 or higher.
Admission principles: Candidates are considered equally based on exam results, regardless of the priority order of their registered wishes, but each candidate is only admitted to the highest priority wish in the list of registered wishes. The admission score is the sum of the Quantitative Thinking score plus the Qualitative Thinking score plus the Science score.
For the 4 majors of Mathematics, Mathematics and Information Technology, Computer Science and Information, and Data Science, the admission score is determined as follows: The admission score is the sum of the Quantitative Thinking score (multiplied by a coefficient of 2) plus the Qualitative Thinking score plus the Science score.
Method 5: Only use international certificates for admission. Consider candidates with international certificates from the Cambridge University Examinations Center, UK (Cambridge International Examinations A-Level, UK; hereinafter referred to as A-Level certificates): Candidates using A-Level certificates have results of 3 subjects, including Math or Literature according to the prescribed combinations of the corresponding training major, ensuring that each subject's score is from 60/100 points or higher (equivalent to grade C, PUM range ≥ 60); Consider candidates with results in the standardized SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test, USA) with scores from 1100/1600 or higher.
The registration code of Hanoi National University with the SAT testing organization (The College Board) is 7853-Vietnam National University-Hanoi. Admission is given to candidates with results in the ACT (American College Testing) standardized test with a score of 22/36.
Method 6: Combine high school graduation exam results with international certificates for admission. Consider candidates with IELTS English certificates of 5.5 or higher or equivalent international English certificates (see section 1.6) and meet the requirement of a total score of 2 subjects in the admission combination of the 2024 high school graduation exam of at least 14 points (including Math).
Admission principles: Candidates are considered equally based on exam results, regardless of the priority order of their registered wishes, but each candidate is only admitted to the highest priority wish in the list of registered wishes. The admission score is the sum of the Math score, the converted English score and the highest score of one remaining subject in the admission combinations.
For the 4 majors of Mathematics, Mathematics and Information Technology, Computer Science and Information, and Data Science, the admission score is determined as follows: The admission score is the total score of Mathematics (multiplied by a coefficient of 2) plus the converted English score plus the highest score of one remaining subject in the admission combinations.
