Fire at industrial scrap yard

At about 10:10 a.m. on September 11, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Hai Duong Provincial Police) received a report that a fire had broken out at a scrap yard at Hoang Long Steel Joint Stock Company located in Vinh Hung Commune (Binh Giang).

The Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department sent 3 fire trucks and 21 officers and soldiers to put out the fire.

The fire was about 150 square meters in size outside in an industrial scrap yard with about 100 cubic meters of nylon, pineapple bags, cotton, silk and other flammable industrial waste. The fire spread black smoke over the entire area and emitted a lot of smoke and toxic gas.

This is the gathering place of Ms. Pham Thi Bich, in Trung Trac village, Van Lam district (Hung Yen), who rents the premises from Hoang Long Steel Joint Stock Company.

The fire was about 150 square meters wide.

After more than 2 hours of firefighting, the police force controlled and completely extinguished the fire. The fire did not cause any human casualties, but burned about 30 cubic meters of waste.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause and assess property damage of the fire.
