Mr. Duy was in pain when he lost 4 relatives.

On the evening of April 10, a mournful atmosphere enveloped the small house deep in an alley in Dao Thanh commune, My Tho city (Tien Giang). Nguyen Khanh Duy (27 years old) was trying to hold back his grief to hold a funeral for his biological mother and younger sister.

Mr. Duy is the son of Ms. Huynh Thi Ngoc Dung (47 years old), and the older brother of Nguyen Huynh Khanh Doan (18 years old) - two of the four victims who died in the house fire in Ward 4, My Tho City. The other two victims are Mr. Duy's aunt and uncle.

Mr. Duy shared that last year his father passed away due to illness. Since then, his mother was so sad that she and her younger sister moved to live with her third aunt Huynh Thi Thuy Tien. Currently, he is working at a construction company in Ho Chi Minh City.

At around 4am on April 10, Duy was sleeping when his phone rang. He picked it up and saw his youngest aunt calling and saying "the house was on fire", so he immediately rushed back to his hometown.

“At that time, I was very confused. I heard people say that they could not save my mother and sister, but I kept reassuring myself that everyone was fine.

On the way home, I checked my phone to see the news and learned that four bodies had been found in the burned house. At that moment, all my hopes were dashed.

Now, my parents and sister are no longer in this world, I don't know how to live in the future...", Duy said in tears.

According to Duy, his mother is a factory worker and his younger sister is in 12th grade. She is a good student and wishes to enter Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. However, in one fateful night, her wish could never come true.

"I love my sister and mother very much, but there is no miracle that can bring them back to life," Duy said painfully.

On the evening of April 10, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Dieu visited, expressed condolences and provided support to the families of those who died in the fire.

The police dispatched many fire trucks, rescue vehicles, and 32 officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire. At this time, the fire had engulfed the house deep in a small alley, the door was locked from the inside, making it difficult for the fire trucks to access.
