Need for breakthrough solutions to discover and nurture excellent students in Hai Duong province

At the workshop recently organized by Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, many breakthrough solutions were proposed to discover and improve the quality of training excellent students in Hai Duong province.

On the afternoon of March 6, Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted (Hai Duong City) held a workshop to improve the quality of education, especially the work of discovering and nurturing excellent students, and the work of enrolling 10th grade students in the 2025-2026 school year.

The workshop was attended by representatives of leaders and managers of the Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong; Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted; local education and training departments; principals of key secondary schools in districts, cities and towns in the province.

Principal of Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, Le Van Luc, said that authorities need to have more policies to attract talent.

Many delegates assessed that this conference was very urgent because although in the past 10 years, the national excellent student achievements of Hai Duong province have always been in the top of the country, in recent years the quality of key education has somewhat declined compared to many previous years, especially the quality of national and international excellent student awards.

At the workshop, delegates discussed and assessed the causes of limitations, difficulties and obstacles, and proposed breakthrough solutions to improve the quality of training excellent students.

Delegates also proposed solutions to attract students to Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, such as: strengthening communication and admissions counseling, especially the rights, benefits and policies of students of specialized schools; adjusting the structure of the exam to be highly differentiated, assessing real capacity; improving facilities, learning and teaching equipment; building a new building to train excellent students in 2025...

thcs-vu-huu(1).jpg — Mr. Nguyen Van Hue, Principal of Vu Huu Secondary School (Binh Giang), a school with a long history of excellent 9th grade students in the province, said that it is necessary to focus on discovering, selecting and nurturing excellent students from secondary school level.

At the national excellent student exam for the 2024-2025 school year, Hai Duong students won 97 prizes, an increase of 8 prizes compared to the previous school year. With this result, Hai Duong maintained its 5th position nationwide in terms of the number of prizes, just behind Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong and Bac Giang.
