How do technical schools plan to enroll in 2024?

Three Polytechnic Universities and a number of other technical schools plan to maintain stable admission methods, including considering separate exam results, international certificates or academic records.

Hanoi University of Science and Technologysaid that in 2024, the school will maintain three stable admission methods as last year, including: talent selection, based on the results of the thinking assessment exam organized by the school and considering high school graduation exam scores.

According to the school representative, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will announce the enrollment plan earlier than every year. Students can refer to last year's admission conditions and methods to orient their choice of major and career and prepare for the admission conditions.

The earliest is the talent selection method, last year Hanoi University of Science and Technology reserved 20% of the quota. Candidates in this category need to have won national science and technology competitions or have international certificates such as SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP or IB. The school also considers the application and interviews of candidates with excellent academic performance, provincial-level excellent student awards, participating in the Road to Olympia from the monthly round, and being students of specialized and gifted schools.

The remaining methods include direct admission (no quota limit); consideration of candidates who won excellent student awards at the provincial and city levels and candidates with international certificates (8%); consideration of high school transcripts (15%); consideration of the capacity assessment test scores of Hanoi National University (6%) and the thinking assessment test scores of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (6%).

University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National Universityalso said to maintain stable admission methods, including direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; admission according to a separate formula, combining competency assessment test scores, high school graduation exam scores, academic records, other competencies (certificates, awards); priority admission according to regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University; admission of candidates with international certificates or foreign candidates (only applicable to advanced English-taught programs); admission of candidates to international programs (Australia, New Zealand).

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industrysaid that in 2024, four admission methods will be applied as last year, including: direct admission and priority direct admission (10% of the target), considering high school graduation exam results (50%), considering grade 12 transcripts (30%), considering the capacity assessment test scores of Ho Chi Minh City National University (10%).

In particular, the school gives priority to recruiting students who are excellent at the provincial level or have won prizes in Olympic competitions (subjects in which the prizes are included in the selection group); students from specialized schools and specialized classes; students with IELTS certificates of 5.5 or higher or equivalent and students from high schools that cooperate with the school.

Candidates who are eligible for priority admission or for consideration of academic records must have a total score of 3 subjects in the admission group (grade 12) of 21 or higher. For candidates applying for Pharmacy, the condition is that their grade 12 academic performance is classified as excellent and the total score of the three subjects in the group must be at least 24.

At the Quang Ngai branch, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry recruits 6 majors (Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Automotive Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology) with four similar methods. However, the method of considering 12th grade transcripts, the floor score is only 19.

SchoolHo Chi Minh City University of Technical Education45 majors are recruited, including two new majors: Microchip Design and Educational Psychology with 5 methods: direct admission, priority admission, review of academic records, review of Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment test scores, review of high school graduation exam scores. These methods remain the same as in 2023.

Universities are announcing their admission plans this year, some schools have made changes, such as the National Economics University stopping considering transcripts, military schools for the first time considering admissions based on transcripts and competency assessment test scores from two national universities.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, university admissions are similar to last year. Candidates can register unlimited wishes, but must enter them into the ministry's common system, including early admission methods (transcripts, international certificates...).
